Telaah bentuk-bentuk citraan dan majas dalam puisi “Sajak Putih” karya Chairil Anwar dan “Hujan Bulan Juni” karya Sapardi Djoko Damono

Abstract

This study aims to describe and compare the use of imagery and figures of speech in the poems "Sajak Putih" by Chairil Anwar and "Hujan Bulan Juni" by Sapardi Djoko Damono using a comparative literature approach. This study uses a descriptive qualitative method with data sources in the form of the texts of both poems. Data collection techniques were carried out through reading and note-taking techniques. The data analysis used content analysis techniques by classifying the types of imagery, figures of speech, and interpreting their functions based on stylistic studies. The results of this study indicate that both poems depict the same visual, auditory, and kinesthetic imagery. Not only that, but other similarities also lie in the use of metaphor and personification as elements of meaning-building. However, the poem "Sajak Putih" tends to display intense and expressive imagery and figures of speech to represent the emotional dynamics of love. Meanwhile, the poem "Hujan Bulan Juni" presents natural imagery and more subtle and symbolic figures of speech to describe calm and patient love.
