This study aims to describe the types of slang language used by teenagers in Bolo District and to understand the contexts in which it is used in daily life. The research employed a descriptive qualitative approach with data collected through observation, interviews, and documentation. The data were analyzed using an interactive analysis model, including data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results indicate that Bolo teenagers actively use slang in both spoken and written communication, particularly in informal situations with peers. The slang used is characterized by short, agile, and creative vocabulary, often formed through word shortening, morphological changes, and the adoption of foreign or local terms. The use of slang contributes positively to building familiarity and strengthening social solidarity but may also reduce the ability to use proper Indonesian if overused. These findings emphasize the importance of guidance from teachers, parents, and the social environment to help teenagers distinguish between appropriate language use in formal and informal contexts. This study is expected to serve as a valuable reference in enriching sociolinguistic studies related to the development of youth slang in local communities.
