Author Guidelines

This section provides comprehensive guidance for authors submitting their work to the Journal of Language and Literacy Learning (J3L). Please follow the instructions below to ensure a smooth and standardized submission process.

1. Author Registration

All authors must register in the journal system before submitting a manuscript. Please follow these steps:

  1. Go to the journal homepage and click 'Register'.
  2. Complete your personal information and select 'Author' as your role.
  3. Confirm your registration via email.
  4. Log in and click 'New Submission' to begin.

2. General Requirements

  • Manuscripts must be original and unpublished.
  • Languages accepted: English or Indonesian.
  • Length: 3,000–6,000 words (approx. 8–10 pages).
  • Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt; single-spaced. Abstract: 11 pt.
  • Paper size: A4, margins 2.54 cm all sides.

3. Manuscript Structure

The manuscript should include the following sections:

  • Title (Max 20 words, sentence case, no place names)
  • Author(s) information: name, affiliation, country, email
  • Abstract (150–200 words) and 3–5 keywords
  • 1. Introduction
  • 2. Literature Review
  • 3. Methodology
  • 4. Results and Discussion
  • 5. Conclusion
  • 6. Acknowledgments (optional)
  • 7. Funding Disclosure
  • 8. Author Contributions
  • 9. References (APA 7th edition)

4. Citation and References

  • Follow APA Style 7th edition for in-text and reference formatting.
  • At least 60% of references must be from the last 10 years.
  • Use reference managers (Zotero, Mendeley, EndNote).
  • Example:

Oya, A. (2024). Evaluation of assessment projects in English language education: A bibliometric review. ASEAN Journal of Educational Research and Technology, 3(3), 255–266.

5. Submission and Review Process

  • Submissions must be made via the online system.
  • The journal uses a double-blind peer review process.
  • Remove author identities in the manuscript for anonymity.
  • Editorial decisions are based on relevance, originality, and clarity.

6. Additional Notes

  • Avoid plagiarism and redundant publication.
  • No article processing charges (APCs) apply currently.

• All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC BY 4.0).

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.
